Make a Difference. Every Day.
We welcome new nursing colleagues with an interest in emergency care to join us at the emergency department at Kristianstad Central Hospital (CSK)!
The emergency department in Kristianstad is the center for emergency care in northeastern Skåne, with over 52,000 patient visits annually. We belong to the Acute Care Unit (VO) and receive between 120 and 170 patients daily with various diagnoses and varying degrees of severity. Our mission is to best meet both the patient and their relatives in the situation they find themselves in.
We are in a development phase where we focus on our working methods to optimize patient care. Our vision is to work in multidisciplinary teams without strict hierarchies, where emergency physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries collaborate to provide patients with the best possible care. Working without strict hierarchies means that patient care is based on the severity of the medical condition rather than the reason for seeking care.
With our modern organization and structure, we are equipped to meet future needs. The nursing group in the emergency department consists of both general nurses and specialist nurses with a wide range of professional experiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The best part of my job is the variety of tasks and that I never know how the workday will unfold or which people I will meet. This makes my work incredibly educational and exciting! I also have fantastic colleagues who are always there to provide support or guidance when needed. In our workgroup, we care for each other and have a lot of fun together, says Annika, a nurse in the emergency department.
As a nurse in our emergency department, your responsibilities include caring for, observing, and assessing patients with varying degrees of illness. Additionally, you will be involved in triage, medication administration, and handling alarms that come with ambulances. As a new employee, you will receive an individual introduction based on your previous knowledge and will be assigned a mentor who will support you during your initial time with us. We offer professional development in various stages through our education leader and training ladder. The competence plan follows you throughout your entire clinical career here with us.
Within the training ladder, there is an opportunity for Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). As you become more confident in your role, you will have the opportunity to join our so-called heart team, which is responsible for cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the entire hospital. Furthermore, we also have alarm teams that take care of all our red-priority patients and triage, where they meet and care for all patients arriving at the emergency department via our reception.
We hope that you, as an applicant, have a desire to further develop within your profession, as emergency care constantly faces new challenges and changes. Time for further education is provided within the framework of your service. With us, we focus on teamwork, which we practice through scenario training on-site in the emergency department. We also offer opportunities for specialist training and various areas of development.
